Q. What are your check in / check out times?

A. Guests are welcomed after 4.30pm on the day of arrival and are requested to vacate the cottage by 10.30am on the day of departure.

Q. Do you require a deposit, when is the balance due and how can payment be made?

A. A £200 deposit is required on booking and the balance is payable six weeks prior to arrival, payment can be made either by cheque or bank transfer. Full details may be found on our terms and conditions page.

A. The rate is fully inclusive of electricity, central heating, hot water, towels and bed linens and all the “little extras” we provide.

Q. Are there places to eat out close by?

A. We are very lucky to have many really good places to eat out within a 10-25 minute drive of Heather Cottage, to suit all tastes and pockets.  As keen “eater outers” ourselves, we have a carefully chosen list of the ones we especially like on our website.  You will find this list on the “Kitchen & Dining” page on the top menu.  Most of these are very popular with visitors and locals alike, and so if one takes your eye, although you may well be able to book at the last minute, try and book well in advance to avoid disappointment.

Q.  Can you provide breakfast?

A.  We are very happy to offer all guests, enjoying an indulgent break at Heather Cottage, an open invitation to come up to Dannah Farm, a pleasant 10 minutes’ drive away, for a full Derbyshire farmhouse breakfast! You will find a map on the Heather Cottage Location page.

Q.  Can we book taxis?

A.  As Heather Cottage is in a beautiful rural location, unfortunately most of the local attractions and places to eat are not within comfortable walking distance – especially for dining out in the evening. However, If you don’t drive or If you would prefer not to drive, (like a glass of wine – or two!! with your meal), a local taxi could be the answer.  A list of local firms that we recommend can be found on our Location page on the website.  The more notice you can give them the better, as at certain times it may be difficult to arrange a taxi at the last moment, especially if you plan to return late at night.

Q.  Can we bring our dogs to Heather Cottage?

A.  Unfortunately dogs or any other pets are not allowed in the cottage and grounds.

Q.  Is Heather Cottage suitable for children?

A.  As Heather Cottage is a luxury cottage for two, we do not allow children under the age of 16 (except for immobile babies).
