Cracker and Jack are our two very good natured and very spoilt English Setters. Cracker is an Orange Belton and Jack a Blue Belton, both seem to love everyone and are absolutely certain everyone loves them! If you have left your own best friend at home they would be delighted to take you for a walk, although it must be said that whilst Jack will tire you out, Cracker has a slightly more sedate pace and doesn't like to venture too far!

Ravensett Dark Fire (aka Jack)
Cracker is possibly the most good natured and laid back dog in the world, and Jack was bought as Cracker approached 5, as a companion for him. Crackers pedigree name is Bocharo Golden Dreamer, (very apt, as he does spend a lot of time dreaming), and his full brother is Bocharo Hopes and Dreams, an extremely successful showdog. We had never been tempted to show our dogs, they are simply much loved pets. We somehow fell into showing Jack as a puppy with an impulse entry in a local Derby Kennel Association Show in Belper. Despite being told he had "knock knees", he won a second in Any Variety Gundog, and we were hooked!!
Jack is a lovely natured dog, a complete showoff and, loves his showdays. He has been hip scored which is very good, and, who knows, in the future we may breed with him. Jack likes this idea very much - he has an eye for the ladies, and would like to begin practising as soon as possible!!
Chase (aka Ravensett Renaissance)

Cracker and Jack have been joined by Chase - born at the end of February 2008, and VERY cute!! (Jack and Cracker are slightly less impressed with the new arrival)!! Martin has really been bitten by the showing bug, and no doubt before too long Chase will be joining Jack on his awaydays!
CRUFTS 2008.
We were delighted when Jack came 4th in his class at Crufts on Friday 7th March, getting reserve, out of a strong class of 15. It is also good news for us that Jack has beat all three dogs placed ahead of him at some point, which must mean that he's up with the best!! Martin didn't take him in the ring as he's hurt his shoulder, but we were willing him on from the sidelines, and he behaved beautifully for Diane who handled him for us. Watch out next year!!
Jacks breeder, Sharon Littlechild, pictured below with Bianca, won not only best bithch, but also took best of breed, and was in the last nine in the group judging!

At Eastwood Kennel Association open show 21st March 2008, Jack scored his highest position to date! He came 1st in open dog/bitch English Setters, went on to win best of breed, and then in the gun dog group judging he won group 2. That means he came second out of 18 different breeds of gun dogs!
