Q. What is the difference between your types of room?

A. We offer a variety of rooms, hopefully to suit all tastes and pockets! The rooms vary in price accordingly, and are all very individual. The Granary Suite and the feature rooms are the most expensive, and these are the ones with the special bathrooms, double spa baths, hot-tubs, etc. If guests look at the room descriptions on the website, the special features of each room are explained.

The Chatsworth Suite is a large family suite, suitable for family or friends travelling together.

Q. Can we sleep in The Cabin?

A. No, the Cabin is not a bedroom, it a new facility we have available for our guests to book, for exclusive use, along with any of our rooms. Once booked, guests may come and go as they please, using the facilities, hot-tub, sauna, etc., from 12.30pm to 9pm.

Q. Are there places to eat out close by.

A. We are very lucky to have many really good places to eat out within a 5 - 25 minute drive of Dannah, to suit all tastes and pockets. As keen "eater outers" ourselves, we have a carefully chosen list of the ones we especially like on our website. Look under "food" on the top bar, and then select "eating out" from the left hand menu. Most of these are very popular with visitors and locals alike, and so if one takes your eye, although you may well be able to book at the last minute, try and book well in advance to avoid disappointement.

Q. Can we book taxis?

A. As Dannah is in a beautiful rural location, unfortunately most of the local attractions and places to eat  are not within comfortable walking dustance - especially for dining out in the evening. However, If you don't drive or If you would prefer not to drive (like a glass of wine - or two!! with your meal), transportation can be provided / booked by Dannah.  If you believe you may require transportation during your stay, even if you have not yet decided where or when you would like it, please mention (if possible) when booking your accommodation.

The more notice you can give us the better, as at certain times it may be difficult to arrange a taxi at the last moment, especially if you plan to return late at night.

Q. Can we book dinner at Dannah?

A. We serve dinner to residents on certain nights of the week, at 7.15pm, by prior arrangement only. Dinner is a set meal, without choice, so it is vital that guests booking dinner inform us of any food allergies or strong dislikes. We are not able to serve dinner on Friday or Sunday evenings. For more details on dinner look under "food" on the top bar then select "dinner".

Q. Can we bring our own wine?

A. No, sorry, guests own drinks cannot be consumed on the premises. We do have a small but comprehensive wine list, and a wide range of spirits and liqueurs.

Q. Can we book a room just for Saturday night?

A. We normally accept two night bookings only over weekends, (Friday and Saturday or Saturday and Sunday). Any accommodation not let for two nights will be released for single night stays on the Thursday prior. Over Bank Holiday weekends, accommodation is let for a minimum of three nights. Single Saturday nights will be advertided in our Late Availabilaty section of the website up to 2 weeks before the day.

Q. Is Dannah in a good area for walking?

A. Absolutely! The area is crisscrossed with footpaths, and we have a series of walks from the door. Alternatively, we have details of walks further a field, and maps and books for guests to borrow.

Q. How far is Chatsworth House from Dannah Farm?

A. We are tenants of the Chatsworth Estate, and are situated approximately 35 minutes drive south of Chatsworth House itself.

Q. Do we need a car?

Although we do occasionally, have guests staying without a vehicle, it is not really a practical option. Public transport in rural areas is virtually non existent, our nearest bus stop is a two mile walk, and services infrequent. Details of the local transport links can be found on the transport page.

Q. Can we bring our dogs to Dannah?

A. Although we are unable to take dogs at Dannah, just down the lane at Long Chimneys, our neighbour Florence Abbott runs a wonderful boarding kennels. This is where Cracker and Jack go for their holidays when we have ours! Once your dogs are checked in Florence is only too happy for you to visit and walk your dogs throughout your stay at Dannah.
