The farm is still very much a working one. We are tenants of the Chatsworth Estates and farm around 155 acres at Dannah Farm.Situated just below Alport Heights, the farm is 900 feet above sea level, and enjoys commanding views of the surrounding countryside.
We have in the past had sheep and beef cattle and grown a variety of crops, from barley to linseed. Now our farmland is mainly down to grass, which is either made into hay or silage and sold, or used for grazing. Both Dannah and all the local farmland is crisscrossed with footpaths, alive with wildlife, and home to many wild birds. Buzzards, kestrels, snipe, lapwing, skylarks and a variety of owls can all be seen within our boundaries, and there are many resident badgers, foxes and hares.
