“A wonderful stay that exceeded expectations” |

My husband and I stayed at Dannah Farm as part of our honeymoon. We booked in for the Overnight Indulgence package that included a supper platter and a bottle of fizz.
On arrival we were met by the staff who showed us to our room and I was delighted to find that we had been upgraded to the Red room which was pretty much a suite with its own little lounge area and the most enormous and comfortable bed I have ever slept on! The bathroom was lovely with a lovely bath and a great shower complete with jets. Our very nice wine was waiting for us on ice and we were asked what time we would like our supper platter. We were also then offered a complimentary slice of homemade cake and some tea - despite having a very good selection of hot drinks to make in the room ourselves.
Our room was well-decorated with lots of lovely personal touches in the furnishings and on the walls. I am not one for too much clutter and fuss and was pleased by the absence of chintz! The room was painted entirely red so be warned if that is not your colour. I particularly liked the velux windows above the bed with the remote controlled blinds - great for watching the clouds scud by overhead without the inconvenience of being awoken by an early dawn.
Our platter arrived following a quick phone call to check that we were ready for it and I was happy with both the quality and quantity of what was on offer - loads of cheeses, meats, salad, breads and other relishes. It was delicious.
Breakfast was definitely up there in the ranks of best breakfasts I have had. The choice and quality of everything from the sauces to the cereals was very impressive and the mushrooms served with the cooked food were the best either of us have ever had. The eggs tasted as fresh as if they had been laid that day and all in all it was a very pleasing experience.
As we were only here for one night we didn't spend much time out of our rooms. There was a table and chairs outside by our accommodation which had two litters of kittens to delight and entertain us. The staff we met chatted to us whilst we were there but otherwise we were happy to be left very much to ourselves.
All in all this was a wonderful stay and, for the breakfasts alone, I highly recommend it.
