|What our guests have to say >>|
We have stayed here so many times since 2001 we have lost count but unfortunately other commitments don't allow us to visit as often as we would like! We have just returned from two nights in the Granary and one night in the Ecclesbourne. As always the welcome was very warm from Joan, Martin, all the staff and all the animals too! The Granary is not just a room - it's a suite with an extremely comfortable bed upstairs and bathroom/shower room and downstairs are two sitting areas, one with TV and also a further bathroom/shower room. Obviously the best bit of all is the outdoor hot tub which is a real treat and is on decking with outdoor sitting area. The Ecclesbourne also has a large, very comfortable bed. There is a lovely dressing room and another luxury bathroom which also features a mini-sauna. Dannah Farm never fails to come up to standard on cleanliness - this establishment does not have the sort of cleaners who just 'flick' over things, they are very thorough. There are two lovely sitting rooms in the main house for guests to relax, with lots of reading material on what to see and do - the Peak District has something for everyone and all ages so you can't fail to amuse yourself in the area. We indulged in a supper platter which more than filled a gap and we recommend you indulge in one of these too. Breakfast is a feast but can be as large or small as you wish, from full English to just cereal and toast (homemade bread and the fruit bread is divine), the choice is yours. We had porridge for the first time and it was delicious. Dannah Farm is very quiet and informal, no uniformed 'jobs worth' type hotel staff or unfriendly receptionists nor indeed a formal reception area. If you want peace and quiet this is the place. It is nestled deep in the Derbyshire countryside so a car is essential but you are guaranteed some lovely fresh air and peace and quiet which can be hard to find. However, mobile and broadband signals are very good if you need them. Joan and Martin are extremely busy people but if there is anything you need or you want to ask advice on the area they are always happy to help if they can - nothing is too much trouble. I have read on here that the prices are a little expensive BUT if that is your opinion this place obviously is not for you. It is rare these days to find good accommodation where the guests are pleasant and don't make too much noise, play loud music or disturb other guests when they return in a drunken state, this is a classy establishment with classy guests who do not disrespect the surroundings or other guests. If you want Premier Inn prices you get Premier Inn standards - enough said! To us Dannah is worth every penny. Many thanks to all at Dannah who made our stay so enjoyable. Needless to say we will be back when we can fit it in to our busy schedule!
