|What our guests have to say >>|
We recently stopped at Dannah Farm for a romantic get away. It was fairly easy to find with a satnav during the day but if arriving late or going out for a meal at one of the many local eateries recommended, it would be quite difficult to find. Not much in the way of signposts. I was expecting a warm welcome from Joan or Martin Slack, but unfortunately we got a scatty rude young lady who wanted to get away from us asap. She very quickly went through details about a mini bar and showed us to our room. We were asked if we would like a drink of tea or coffee. We had to tell her repeatedly we would love a tea. Two hours later we still hadn't our drinks. we never got our welcome tea. Not a very good welcome at all, and one that we have never had from anywhere else.
The room was wonderful and cosy. It was huge, and a large dressing room. Plenty of lights and electric points, and lots of little extras. We had the indulgence package with included chocolate covered strawberries (heaven) bubbly for me and non alch for my partner, and a yummy yummy platter. The bathroom had a mini sauna, lovely big bath and a walk in power shower. More extras with gowns and wash products. All the rooms were lovely and warm all night. Did have a problem with the bed, although it was a 6 foot bed, the previous occupants like myself slept on the edge in a dip. It was the same my partners side. Maybe the mattress needed renewing so not the best nights sleep.
Breakfast involved a trip outside to the dining room. Dining room very nice and food excellent, and plenty of it. Too many young girls walking through the dining room while we having breakfast making a distrubed meal. not good.
When we did meet Joan Slack we found she was a lovely woman but think she lost touch with the customer having delegated to others.
On the whole the place is lovely and quiet ideal for a great away, but no warm welcome we were expecting for the price. Will not be going there again - sorry
We have stopped at other places for cheaper and much better personal service.

Oh dear - I am really sorry you didn't enjoy your stay as much as you were hoping to, although relieved that you did like both the accommodation and the food. I am a little mystified as to your problem with the mattress though as it is a new zip link in that room - (two seperate but joined mattresses) - so that the room can be easily converted into a twin.
I can only apologise for the missing tea when you arrived. Even though all our rooms and suites have complimentary hot drinks trays we always try to offer guests refreshment when they arrive. The girl who showed you up was just about to go home as you arrived and as I was making "platters" turned around and did the honours for me. I am so sorry if she seemed rushed - she is a lovely girl - but on this occasion her mind must have been on home! The tea you had asked for can only have been overlooked and I just wish you had rung down and reminded us as it could so quickly and easily have been rectified.
Although I often wish there could be 10 of me - I am just one - and with 8 rooms, operating with the degree of luxury and extras you have so kindly mentioned, I do, unfortunately, have to delegate sometimes.
