We booked the Dannah Farm to celebrate our wedding anniversary after reading the great reviews and were not disappointed. The farm is located in beautiful countryside and has lovely grounds. We stayed in the Ecclesbourne room-this has its own private sauna and a lovely spa bath. The room was spacious with a separate dressing area, and the bathroom had a great shower.
As soon as we arrived we were warmly greeted and offered a cup of tea-what arrived was an afternoon tea for two with fresh buttered scones and meringue filled with cream, delicious.

Stayed here for two nights which was a surprise for my *cough* 30th birthday, Dannah farm feels really remoteso you certainly can get away from everything but close enough to some great peak district market towns to get back to civilisation from time to time.

This has to be one of the best places I've ever stayed. We stayed in the red room for my partners birthday. The room was really nice with a lovely big bed. It was tastefully furnished and very clean. There was an honesty bar right outside the room. We also had use of the spa cabin which is a real bonus and not to be missed. We hired it on the last day so once we'd checked out we effectively got another day as we stayed there all afternoon. The staff we friendly and have you the option to talk to them or keep to yourself if you wanted. An ideal location and lovely area.

Im quite picky myself where I go and stay, I do not stay at standard hotels and feel most at home at 5* , unique and quirky places to have a romantic get away. I tend to find places with good reviews who offer something abit more then your standard place. Dannah farm came up as it has two hot tubs with two of its room., So its unquie and worth a visit. Im from Stoke on trent so it was a pleasure to drive over to the peak district, Dannah farm on arrival, was very much out of the way, amazing views so I was impressed already.

We have returned from a couple of days at Dannah Farm, it was a lovely quiet couple of days in charming surroundings. Upon our arrival we were taken into the sitting rooms to show us where we could relax, gather information on walks and places to see in the area, and also shown the honesty box (which means you could take any of the wines or small snacks from the sitting room, just write down what you had taken, it would be then put on your bill at the end of your stay). my husband and I found this charming. We were taken to The Red Room which we had for one evening, it was beautiful, and huge, with everything you could want from the opulent bathroom with a lovely bath and fabulous shower, with a chair beside the bath so you could chat as you bathed.

I want to start with the positives…The room as we walked in looked absolutely great, we stopped in Granary Suite and at £270 a night you’d expect that. After looking for information on the place before we went, we can say you do get robes and slippers for the hot tub, there is wifi in the room supposedly but that’s another story!! We were asked if we want a tea or coffee as we were shown around, which came with a slice of cake and a biscuit all good so far…. Hot tub was lovely, shower looked good with all the jets, as did the bath. They even sorted out a taxi for us to go to a lovely local for food (the Bulls Head)you need a taxi as its in the middle of nowhere, which is not a bad thing as its quiet.

My partner and I have just returned from a very relaxing two night weekend break at Dannah farm and I couldnt find any faults with the place. It was just perfect for a relaxing child free break for us. The B & B was spotless and the staff were very friendly and the rooms very well equiped. I really liked the little extras like the honesty bar outside our room (the red room). My partner and I enjoyed the fresh full english breakfasts every morning before we headed out to explore.

The room was lovely, bed very very comfy!! we had the garden room, the bed was four poster. we had a separate changing area and also a huge bathroom with double jacuzzi bath and flat screen tv in it! we hired the cabin for a day that was lovely also, breakfast is amazing. yes it is in the middle of nowhere but with the use of a sat nab went went to nearby towns which were full of craft shops and lovely places to eat.

We had a wonderful couple of nights here!! its just the perfect setting.
The suite was lovely and perfect for us being a family. Its was so big we actually had to explore it. Our 6 year old loved it!
The cabin was unbelievable, a truely amazing hideaway with hot tub and sauna! I would pay just for the cabin, a great way to spend the evening with my family!
Breakfast on the morning we did make it was very good, the homemade bread was so tasty and my poached eggs couldn't of been better!

I just read the last 'over hyped' review and i can't believe what i've read! You really can't please some people!

The descriptions of Dannah Farm had raised our expectations. In reality it's a high quality B&B. There are some nice touches - honesty bar, lots of local info, glossy mags. 

We stayed here for our wedding anniversary this year and what a loverly B&B this is. There are about 10 rooms which are all very different and some of them have very special touches like four posters, spa baths or even private outdoor hot tubs.

Stayed here on a Monday night in the middle of December. Regardless of the fact that it was raining and miserable outside, we managed to have a wonderful stay. The hot-tub/jacuzzi proved to be a particular highlight for me. It was covered from the rain, so we sat outside and drank wine for a good few hours. The room itself (Called the Granary room) is delightful. Spacious and warm with thick carpets and fluffy pillows.

We stayed in the Garden Room which was absolutely beautiful and the bed was the most comfortable I have ever slept in and the bathroom was spectacular. The whole house was decorated perfectly in keeping with lovely little touches scattered around. The breakfast was wonderful and the staff very friendly and clearly wanting to give the best service possible.

Stayed for one night with a friend in the Wilderbrook suite last weekend. This is a luxury b and b in beautiful countryside, quiet and off the beaten track - a great place to relax. Our needs were accomodated as the usual 6ft bed had been replaced with twin beds. We had the use of two shared lounges downstairs even though we had our own lounge within the suite.

Only stayed for one night, but we had a fab time here, the staff are so kind and friendly, the room was stunning ( we stayed in the studio hide away with a hot tub) fantastic facilities, all the hot drinks under the sun in the room, ipod docks,super comfy beds did not want to get up, great hot tub even in the rain, great shower in the room with all the jets on, 2 cute pigs in the garden and a very friendly dog, wonderfull breakfasts, just perfect for a romantic get away.

My boyfriend and I went to Dannah for a country getaway. We wanted luxury and peace and quiet.. and that's what we got. The owners and staff were so friendly and did not disturb us, they were there when we needed them yet a lot of the time we felt like we were the only people on the farm.
We stayed in the Granary suite which exceeded our expectations and the pictures didn't do it justice. Our bed was so comfortable that we wanted to take it home with us, and the hot tub was perfect after a day out walking one of the many walks.

I was discussing my perfect place for a romantic place the other day and I realised that I had not written a review on this gem.
This is absolutely the perfect place for romance. the rooms are exceptional as they are diferent. every little detail has been thought of. It is actually a working farm which the owners seem proud of. this place is in a secluded part of the countryside but not too far from the real world. excellent spa facilities are available and the food is great also.
I could hapilly return over and over again.
 

If you seek an amazingly beautiful country setting, but love pampered comfort in tastefully decorated suites STAY HERE! Lovely freshly cooked breakfasts with homemade breads and jams were perfection.

This place is just fabulous. An isolated farmhouse down narrow country lanes with a sense of tranquility and privacy, but well located for the cities of the north and midlands. From outside a cluster of a solidly elegant farm buildings built with the beautiful honeyed local sandstone.

We arrived in the dark, to a cheerful personal welcome from Joan and were shown to the room we had booked. Wow. The Red Room; opulent deep red, luxurious furnishings, thick pile carpet, and an amazing bed.

We've just spent a fabulous 2 night break in this suite at Dannah Farm, a wonderfully romantic and private room with an upstairs and downstairs, the new patio and hot tub was grand. We were able to park the car in a separate bay outside the room too and could access the room from our own back door. Breakfast each morning was a real treat with homemade bread and really decent local produce.

My wife and I found Dannah Farm when doing an internet search for a country hotel with private hot tub - an indulgence we have come to love in recent times!

We booked a midweek break in the (admittedly quite expensive) Granary Suite - but what a wonderful few days we had! Not so much a top quality room, the Granary Suite is spread over two floors, with comfortable lounge areas and a bathroom on the ground floor and a fantastic bedroom and luxury en-suite bathroom on the first floor.

The upstairs bathroom includes a large double-ended spa bath, a huge walk-in shower complete with body jets and - for the brave - an overhead cold-water douche arrangement that really blows away any cobwebs!!

What a truly fantastic place! We stayed last night at Dannah Farm, and I just regret that we couldn't stay for a few days more! It was the perfect romantic hideaway and a real treat. I booked the Studio Hideaway for my partner's birthday, and we were absolutely delighted - the interior was fantastic, the bed was amazingly comfortable, the platter for two was a culinary delight on its own (and we couldn't eat all of it despite of being very hungry!), the champagne was excellent, the outdoor hot tub under the sky was awesome, and the hosts were fantastic, helpful and very welcoming!

For a farmhouse guest house this venue is good. However I did think it was a bit expensive for what it was (particularly having struggled to carry my own heavy case up to the room).The room was quaint but dark and cluttered and the décor a bit tired but that is just my taste. The en suite was modern and bright with spa bath.

We booked one night at the studio hideaway here, before going on to visit friends in the area. It was very romantic, comfortable and all our needs were seen to.

The studio was a a perfect combination of traditional setting and modern decor and amenities. The hotub was fantastic to relax in. We ended up using it 3 times in our short stay. The staff were very friendly, and the food at breakfast was absolutely delicious. Most of the items available for breakfast were homemade which added a lovely touch. We were very impressed by the information available on activities in the lounge. There is something there for almost anyone, and we loved the fact that you could take away photocopies of suggested walks. There was also a good selection of DVDs to watch, and we went to one of the restaurants suggested-Saracen's head. The food was absolutely delicious!

A two night stay in the Red room was very enjoyable.

The positives: Lovely room, Great bathroom, A bed to die for, Fabulous self contained Spa, The food platter, Lovely breakfast area

I stay at Dannah Farm several times a year as I visit the area with work.

Martin, Joan and the rest of the team are always so welcoming. Rooms are immaculate, and very comfortable - other reviews tell their stories so well, I cannot add anything to them. I've stayed in the Red Room, Chatsworth Suite, Studio Hideway, Wilderbrook (and probably a couple more!). Each time I visit and stay in a room, I fall in love with it over again.

Breakfasts are always fabulous - you could never leave hungry!

We stayed here on the 3 for 2 night offer to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. We stayed in the studio hideout which has a small lounge and upstairs bedroom (via a spiral staircase so not suitable for everyone) and our own private hot tub! Our welcome from "Grandad" was extemley warm and we were made to feel at home immediately. The breakfast offered is substantial and all made freshly to order. In fact we never needed any lunch when out we were so full!

Spent three wonderful nights at this special place - booked the Granary which was a huge, enormous suite on two levels - the wet room was great and the bed was ever so comfy - our daughter had a cutesy bed made up downstairs and then beautiful terrace with hot tub which was private and lovely to relax in after a day at Alton Towers!
Loved the breakfast - the breads were heaven. Loved the never ending supply of fresh fluffy towels and loved the fact that my bed was changed after only two nights and was only staying one more night - how lovely was that!

Pleasant stay but ludicrously overpriced. It has all the facilities as stated but this is not value for money. At this price and in this remote location there should be much more. The cats were lovely and it is nice to have separate tables at breakfast but this is a b and b and should be priced as such.

My husband and I stayed at Dannah Farm as part of our honeymoon. We booked in for the Overnight Indulgence package that included a supper platter and a bottle of fizz.

On arrival we were met by the staff who showed us to our room and I was delighted to find that we had been upgraded to the Red room which was pretty much a suite with its own little lounge area and the most enormous and comfortable bed I have ever slept on! The bathroom was lovely with a lovely bath and a great shower complete with jets.

We stayed in the Granary room which was fabulous. The bed was really comfy bathroom was gorgeous and the hot tub is private and a welcome reward after a long walk around the surrounding countryside. Dannah is perfect for a relaxing de-stressing weekend. The staff are lovely and friendly and the breakfasts really set you up for the day.

We stayed in the most beautiful, clean and relaxing room. The living room complete with writing desk, the perfect couch for snuggling, DVD player and an unbeatable selection of literature. The bathroom filled with soaps, gels, cosy bathrobes and a fabulous shower! Moving upstairs to the bedroom where our rooms real X-Factor blew myself and my partner Tom away, a gorgeous four poster bed, and I’d strongly suggest if you’re visiting waking up a little earlier get the curtains open and check out the glorious sunrise over the stunning English country side, what a way to start the day!!!!

My husband booked this for a birthday treat for me last night
It was a lovely place - our room (the Hideaway) was so sweet it brought tears to my eyes. It was beautifully furnished and had a secluded jacuzzi in the bark courtyard.
The owners dont do food at night - but for £16 each you can pre-order the most spectacular platter. Fresh bread, cheeses, meats, salad, pickles, THE BEST strawberries and chocolate mousse in the world. Drinks are available from the "honesty bar" . We could not fault it one little bit. The comfiest bed in the world and a perfect breakfast - it was all stunning

Me and My partner stayed In the Hideaway Studio, It was Just perfect. The service at breakfast was fantastic, very homely atmosphere. Large portions for breakfast. The shower was poweful, towels fluffy and soft. It was a great escape and the views were beautiful.
Staff kept themselves to themselves, but if we needed anything it wasn't a problem. Hot tub a great treat. Would go back.

We could not have asked for better from this establishment, friendly staff, great service, very comfortable rooms with fantastic views and lots of little extras. Breakfasts that exceeded all our expectations. If you want to spend time in Derbyshire you could not ask for a better place to stay.

Just spent 2 nights in the Garden Room - Absolutely Fabulous.Bathroom was amazing too. All the rooms are first class and pure luxury,attention to detail is second to none. Breakfast was amazing. Joan,Martin and staff were all lovely and nothing was too much trouble.
Will definately be going back again and working our way around the various rooms. For a quiet romantic break it is superb.

I thought I had already wrote a review but it looks like I haven't so I'm sorry it's late. Me and my husband went to this country retreat on dec 30th 2010 to jan 1st 2011 and had a fantastic time we stayed in the studio hideaway with the hot tub, when we were shown to our room I and my husband was very impressed it smelt lovely and the decor was very nice the pictures on the Internet don't do it justice. There is a stylish bathroom and the hot tub area is very nice too.

This place really is perfect for a relaxing getaway...we were only there for one night but it felt as though we'd had a week away! The staff were friendly but left us to it, which is exactly what we like. We stayed in the studio hideaway which was so cosy and comfortable with the hot tub being the icing on the cake. If we had to give a small piece of constructive criticism it would be that, for us, the tv and dvd player would have been better located downstairs in the seating area as we're not 'watch tv in bed' people...too easy to fall asleep :-)

We were really looking forward to this break after researching on TripAdvisor and looking on the Dannah Farm website. We were staying as a group of 5 - we are all spread out over the country and wanted to meet for a weekend get-together and Dannah Farm looked perfect. We were put in the Chatsworth Suite which sleeps 5 in 3 bedrooms and has a communal living area.

Having stupidly made the journey from Manchester through the blizzards to Dannah Farm, we were greeted by Martin who's first chore was to help push the car through the snow drifts into the farm complex. We learnt on arrival that all the other guest had cancelled, meaning that we had the place to ourselves, which suited us just fine as we had a beautiful old farm and surrounding countryside to play in.

I could not fault Dannah Farm. We stayed in Wilderbrook and the room was superb.
Loads of room, every detail thought of, fabulous bed, wonderful double spa bath, the sofas were squashy, it was toasty warm and my only regret was that our suite was so luxuorious we didn't take advantage of the open fire in the gorgeous sitting room downstairs. The views from our windows were stunning, the most perfect location. Best of all was the breakfast, wonderful local produce, fresh apple juice from the orchard, every sort of cereal and yogurt and lovely friendly staff. Oh and there are pigs to talk to in the garden!

Was really looking forward to our visit based on the website and reviews. However we found the owner very gruff when welcoming us and our room too cluttered for our taste.
The web site makes a big play on breakfast and it was good on the first morning but there must have been a different cook on the second day with lumpy porrige and tasteless scrambled egg.
The location is very peaceful but the farm is now a crop farm so other than domestic animals there is no other livestock around.
We could have accepted all of the above but for the price an eye wtaering £160 per night which in our book was over the top.

I wanted something special to surpise my partener with for his birthday and thats what we got! We stayed in the stuido hideaway and it was lovely! Had lots of little things, like full drinks tray, bath robes and slippers (which were especially useful with goin in and out to the hot tub!) it was the perfect size for the two of us and we had such a relaxing and special night in the hot tub and in the most comfy bed i have been in! The only problem I had was getting the lazy thing up from under the gorgeous quilt before 9am for the brekfast! (which was also lovely!).

We were looking for a romantic hideaway to celebrate our 22nd wedding anniversary, after checking reviews, we decided to opt for Dannah Country House. The Red room as part of booked the mini moon offer. When we arrived Someone came out to meet us and show us around the farm, then took us to our room. We were promptly offered fresh tea and cakes. The room was just gorgeous! It had all mod cons, an LCD TV and DVD player, sofa, armchair, writing desk , chair and a tray with tea/coffee-making facilities. The bedroom had a wonderful 4-poster bed WOW!

Dannah Farm Country House is a gem. We were looking for a hotel in the Peak District when we stumbled across it. Got in touch with the owners direct and they offered us a deal better than I could find on-line for one of the themed rooms so whether this review will make it onto the site on the strength of that I don't know.

Dannah Farm is located in the middle of the countryside, the views are spectacular and it is very quiet. We found the experience incredibly relaxing, the only drawback being that there was no hot water on the Sunday morning. We would definitely recommend iDannah Farm for a special occasion as it is a really lovely place.

This is my second stay in a week and I've really been impressed by the quality of the accommodation, the isolated location and the value for money

We stayed in the Studio Hideaway for two nights and it was pretty nearly perfect. The little touches made the stay memorable and of course the private hot-tub on the terrace outside.

We chose to stay at Dannah for our wedding night as we wanted something really special and we not disappointed in any way. I have read the negative reviews on here and find it hard to believe that they are talking about the same place. We had the garden room with its huge (6ft bed!) and wonderful bathroom with spa bath. The accomodation was very comfortable and clean - we couldn't have asked for anything more.

DO NOT GO TO DANNAH FARM COUNTRY HOUSE, if you expect to step outside of the door and have buses, taxi's and railway stations nearby. Shopping Centres, and being in the middle of a town/city.

From the moment we arrived, our stay was wonderful! It is soon apparent how long the hotel has been in business, as there are so many personal touchs and you really feel that you're home from home with how comfortable the surroundings are.
