We are situated in the heart of the Derbyshire Dales, on the southern fringes of the Peak District, high above the Derwent Valley, recently designated a world heritage site.

Our central location is ideal for touring the many and varied attractions of Derbyshire, the Peak District, and the beautiful unspoiled countryside that surrounds us. Yet we are only 20 minutes from the M1 and close to both Derby and Nottingham.

From The North

Exit M1 at Junction 28. Take the A38, exit onto the A610 to Ambergate, and then follow the A6 to Belper. Please then follow the map below for the easiest and quickest route to us.

From The South

Exit M1 at Junction 25, follow the A52 to Derby then the A6 from Derby towards Matlock. At Duffield take the B5023 towards Wirksworth. Approximately 3 miles before Wirksworth, (at Cowers Lane), please follow the map below for the easiest and quickest route to us.

If you choose to use satellite navigation please do so in combination with the map and directions provided above. Please do not solely rely on our postcode to get you directly to Dannah Farm. Your sat nav will simply direct you to the center of the postcode area which is unfortunately half a mile away.

Please be aware that if you are using satellite navigation (or following route planner printouts), you may be taken on the back lanes as a “fast route”. Although we have easy access, we are in a rural location, and a few wrong turns can make your journey anything but “fast”. If you follow the directions and simple map above we are only a short distance from the main road, and the margin for error is low.

Taxis

As Dannah is in a beautiful rural location, unfortunately, most of the local attractions and places to eat are not within comfortable walking distance – especially for dining out in the evening. However, If you don’t drive or If you would prefer not to, (like a glass of wine – or two!! with your meal), a local taxi could be the answer. Please see the list of local firms we recommend below. The more notice you can give them the better, as at certain times it may be difficult to arrange a taxi at the last moment, especially if you plan to return late at night.

Airports

Dannah is located within easy reach of many of the UK’s major airports.

The nearest international airport to Dannah is East Midlands which is only a 45-minute drive south of Dannah.

Slightly further afield but still within easy reach are Birmingham Airport which is around 1 and 1/4 hours south of Dannah, and Manchester Airport which is around 1 and 1/2 hours northwest of Dannah (across the peak district). The London airports are further still, the closest being Heathrow at around 2 and 1/4 hours drive south.
